Brenda Mehr Recruiter

“Leave them better than you found them.” No matter where she is or who she is with, this is Brenda Mehr’s mantra. As a recruiter for Edge Advisors, Brenda prioritizes her core values of genuineness, excellence, and passion for helping others to be better each day. With experience in the dental field and real estate, Brenda uses her skills in connecting with others to build trust, problem solve, and motivate people. She is excited to partner with dentists to help them navigate every stage of their careers. Whether they are looking to find the perfect practice to begin their associate journey or assist practice owners in growing their practice with an ideal associate dentist. Brenda is eager to help doctors find career opportunities that align with their long-term goals.

Brenda grew up in a small rural town in central Minnesota. Aitkin is known for its world famous fish house parade, one stop light in the county, and having enough lakes to fish in to keep you busy all year. Brenda attended the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and graduated in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. While attending the U, she was active as the Student American Dental Hygienists Association President, volunteer with the Special Olympics Special Smiles, and studied abroad doing dental hygiene in Bergen, Norway.

After working as a hygienist in the metro, Brenda made her way back to the north woods after marrying the son of her high school math teacher. Together they welcomed 3 awesome kids into their family and are now back to their roots in Aitkin. Brenda has kept her hands busy working clinic dental hygiene for the past 12 years, along with building a successful real estate business closing an average of 30 residential sales per year. She attributed her accomplishments in real estate and dentistry to her perseverance, ability to work with many personalities, and drive to make everyone feel like they won through the real estate process and are cared for in the dental chair. Brenda understands what it takes to run a dental office clinically and administratively: balancing welcoming in new patients while caring for recare patients, treatment planning extensive restorative and periodontal procedures, the demand of an insurance-driven industry, and keeping life in balance while being a dental provider. She understands how crucial it is to find the right associate to further improve the culture of a productive office.

At home, Brenda stays busy packing snacks and untangling fishing line for the kids on the boat. She enjoys running outdoors year round in the different seasons of Minnesota. Brenda volunteers and travels with Project Haiti Dental, a nonprofit organization committed to sustaining dental efforts in Pignon, Haiti. Brenda enjoys sharing her love of travel with her family, but their favorite place to be all together is at their lake spot watching the sunset.
