Kayla Waller’s career journey has been marked by dedication, growth, and an unwavering commitment to building strong relationships. Kayla is ecstatic to join the Edge team, bringing her passion for nurturing dental relationships and recruitment expertise to the table.
With over 9 years of experience in the veterinary and dental industries, Kayla has a proven track record of finding the right doctors for over 230 locations throughout the US. Kayla kicked off her career at Nordstrom, where she held various roles that honed her skills and ignited her passion for recruitment. It was here that her path veered towards the dental industry (thanks to a call over a decade ago from fellow Hawkeye and now Edge partner Drew Lockie!). That phone call led to Kayla taking a leap of faith that would ultimately define her career trajectory. Kayla quickly fell in love with the intricacies of recruiting dentists across Iowa, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. She was instrumental in steering the team of Doctor Recruiters at one of the nation’s largest dental groups. Kayla played a pivotal role in driving the organization’s expansion from 30 practices to nearly 700 practices nationwide.
Not yet satisfied, Kayla’s ambition led her to seek new horizons, and venture into the veterinary space, where she embarked on an inspiring solo journey that saw her transform vision into reality. With determination and resilience, Kayla nurtured, and developed from ground zero, a team of eight, and spearheaded a remarkable feat; doubling doctor hiring within a span of two years. While developing and coaching a team is an innate skill and very rewarding for Kayla, something was missing. Kayla felt a strong pull to get back to working directly with providers impacting positive change for their patients. As she learned about Edge Advisors’ commitment to those exact relationships, she determined the best move was to partner with the team to spearhead recruitment for clients.
Kayla is a proud Iowan, raised in Northwest Iowa, graduated from the University of Iowa before settling down in Ely (still right in Hawkeye Country!), with her high school sweetheart Lance and their two boys, Jase and Bo and their adorable puggle, Sydney. Outside of work, you can find Kayla cheering on her boys at sports events, enjoying the outdoors with her family, and indulging in kickboxing classes. The Waller clan cheers loudly for the Packers and even louder for the Hawkeyes!
